Mission Motors Mission R

Mission Motors, purveyor of Electric Vehicle (EV) technology have been working on EV bikes for a while now, and their current race bike, the Mission R, certainly looks the goods.

With 141 horsepower liquid-cooled 3-phase AC induction motor and 14kW-h of storage, it should make a formidable race weapon.

Follow the link to the Mission R website for overview, specs and more photo's.

On the road again

We found out last night that the Bruce highway at Gympie was re-opened... but to make reasonable time we'd have to beat the Brisbane traffic. Peak hour starts at 6:30am, and we were a little over two hours away! A departure before 4am was in order. It was sucky, for sure but we got away about 3:30 Queensland time.
But now we're north of Gympie and less than 2 hours from our destination today. Traffic through Brisbane at 5am is a breeze.
Just a point on the flood... the smell as we drove through Gympie was terrible. The people returning to their homes in Brisbane are going to be faced with that stench throughout their homes... carpet, walls, furniture. It makes me feel sick.

Worst floods since 1974...

Essentially I'm bored... because we can't get north.
It all started when before Christmas we just made it south of Rockhampton... but we had time to let the water subside. No dramas. We headed across the border to visit family in NSW, and found ourselves with no way of getting north of Gympie.
Now staying with relatives in Northern NSW, waiting for the Bruce Highway to open and watching the news for the Brisbane flood. We're inconvenienced, but no way as troubled as some.
The news footage is mind numbing.
The donations so far have reached something like $35.8 million. You can donate by visiting the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal Website.
